NexusEdgeIT is the IT company I founded at the tail end of 2024. Today, I specialize in WordPress web design and hosting — but it didn’t start that way.
Where We Were
Originally, I set out to build an MSP (Managed Service Provider), similar to my previous employer, InfiniTech Consulting LLC. MSPs are consulting firms that deliver a wide range of IT services, such as:
- Hardware: Setting up, managing, and protecting devices
- Software: Deploying and maintaining business applications
- Servers: Implementing and supporting the systems that power core business functions
- Email: Setting up, securing, and maintaining email services
- Domains: Managing public domains, DNS, and related services

Where We Pivoted
My path shifted after building a website for SafetyClothingSupply LLC. It was a fun, from-scratch project that pushed me to learn how modern websites really work. That journey led me to WordPress — specifically WordPress.org, which you can self‑host for maximum control and flexibility. Compared to Wix or Squarespace, WordPress felt like the best fit for me as a DIY‑minded builder who likes to understand what’s under the hood.
Safety Clothing Supply was my first full website, and after many hours, I’m proud of the result. The SCS team was fantastic to work with, and through that project I found a rhythm and a process I’m excited to bring to future builds. That experience ultimately steered me toward freelance WordPress design and hosting.
This is work I’m genuinely passionate about, and I’m focused on turning that passion into long‑term success for both my clients and NexusEdgeIT.

Why WordPress?
For me, WordPress is the most flexible CMS (content management system) to work with. It serves newcomers and non‑developers through a vast ecosystem of plugins — packaged code that extends core WordPress functionality (more on that here). And when there isn’t a plugin that does exactly what a project needs, I can build custom functionality to meet that goal. There’s a learning curve, but the payoff is real control, scalability, and ownership.
Self‑hosting WordPress gives us complete control, deep customization, and full ownership of content and data. This approach is ideal for businesses, developers, and creators who need flexibility and room to grow without the limitations of fully hosted platforms.
